Introduction

This course addresses the different options within the Florida Building Codes 6th Edition (2017) that are currently available to homeowners for mitigation to protect their homes and families.

Description

In addition to explaining what mitigation is, reasons why it’s important and how it can save money, this course also reviews the testing methods and label requirements used by the Florida Building Code as well as the wind-borne debris provisions within the code. Learn what to look for when reviewing either a Florida Product Approval or a Miami-Dade NOA. This course also provides a list of resources to keep informed as to all the requirements when thinking about purchasing windows and doors either for replacement or for new construction.

To provide an understanding of the Mitigation options & codes available within the Florida Building Code, 6th Edition (2017) as it relates to fenestration.
