CEU: Universal Bathroom Design - A Checklist of Essential and Important features
(AIA approved, 1 LU, HSW qualified) IDCEC #8172 Universal Design has become a popular subject and an important factor affecting the design of all buildings. This seminar focuses on the residential bathroom, a key room in any home and the one where some of the greatest challenges occur when we become elderly or suffer incapacitating health problems.
This presentation results from surveying several leading experts in Universal Design. It is intended to be a start. Future updates will reflect the contributions of other leading designers focused on the need to create spaces that are friendly to all human beings as well as our environment.
About Gabriela Sims: Gabriela is Institute for Human Centered Design’s Director of Administration and manages financial operations as well as policies and procedures for IHCD; she has been with the organization for eighteen years. She also oversees the organization’s graphic design projects and assists IHCD Studio in product specification. She has taught and lectured on Human Factors for the Interior Design Department at the New England School of Art and Design since 2000. She has an undergraduate degree from Parsons School of Design and a Masters in Public Administration from Suffolk University.
