2012 Grassroots leadership and Legislative Conference Date: March 7-10, 2012 Location: Washington, DC AIA members rely on your dedication and work to help them succeed. Whether it's organizing continuing education programs through your local component or leading advocacy efforts within the community, the Institute and its members are strengthened by effective leaders with vision, influence, and action. The 2012 AIA Grassroots Leadership and Legislative Conference, the premier annual gathering for AIA leaders, is an essential professional development resource for those who wish to lead, to advocate, and to communicate more effectively. Through four days of interaction with your AIA colleagues, you will find much to enlighten and inform you—and you'll take home a wealth of inspiration and insights from fellow attendees.
The Value of Attending
•Increase Your Professional Network. From general sessions to breakout sessions, and from peer group breakfasts to dinners out with friends, AIA Grassroots provides you with many opportunities, formal and informal, to meet colleagues. •Learn the Benefits of a Strong, Collective Voice. Gain a better understanding of what the AIA and its leaders will be calling on members of Congress to support. With an introduction to the Institute's 2012 legislative agenda, you will get a head start on how to advocate for that agenda effectively.
•Build Your Leadership Skills. Choose from half-day professional development workshops—offering comprehensive knowledge and training tailored to your leadership role and interest areas. For your convenience, some workshops will be presented on both Wednesday and Saturday. AIA members receive Learning Units (LUs).
