TALLAHASSEE’s Hammond Elected 2024 AIA Florida President
 The Florida Association of the American Institute of Architects (AIA Florida) has elected Rhonda Hammond, AIA, its first vice president for 2023 and president for 2024.
Hammond, of TALLAHASSEE, has served on the board of directors in a variety of roles, most recently as vice president of professional development. She is a principal at Hammond Design Group Architects and is an associate professor of architecture at the Florida A&M University School of Architecture & Engineering Technology.
Also elected to the board were:
Joshua Shatkin, AIA, as secretary-treasurer for 2023-2024. Shatkin, of Gainesville, owns his own firm. He has served ?in every board position for AIA Gainesville and most recently served as vice president of advocacy for AIA Florida.
Adam Gayle, AIA, of Gainesville, and Kelly Wieczorek, AIA, of Pensacola, were elected as vice presidents for 2023-2024. Gayle is a graduate of the Jacob Leadership Institute and is a principal at Level Architecture + Interiors. Wieczorek is a senior project manager for Goodwyn Mills Cawood and has served AIA Florida Northwest as president and associate director.
Yoselim Bravo, Assoc. AIA, was elected associate director at large for 2023-2024. She is a native of Peru who works as a project coordinator for Gresham Smith in Tampa.
Hammond, Shatkin, Gayle and Bravo will join a 2023 board headed by that year’s AIA Florida President Beverly Frank, AIA, of Tampa. Serving with them will be Vice President Francis Lussier, AIA, and Vice President Elizabeth Camargo, AIA, along with 13 state directors from AIA Florida’s local components.
