Course Title:­ It’s More Than Paint in a Gallon, It’s a Science!
Course Description: ­
Learning what is in a gallon of paint and how certain pigments and formulas can improve color retention on your projects
Learning Objectives:­ ­
• The importance of Zinc for exterior paint, especially for our special climatic conditions
• Understanding how certain resins help resist potential water intrusion but
caneffect color retention
• When to choose a sealer or primer for your projects exterior surface
• Choosing flat, eggshell or satin for your projects exterior and interior ­
• Interior paint (one coat, two coats, or more) why certain colors don’t cover well and how to improve touch-up
• Textured coatings do’s and don'ts
• Pigment Volume Concentrate (PVC) and how that impacts the paint and coatings performance
• VOC requirements
• Certain climatic conditions require certain additives in paint, that can impact your project ­
• How to have your paint specifications become more impactful
• Maintenance is still part of the formula
