Michael Lingerfelt, AIA, LEED-AP

 

Michael Lingerfelt, AIA has been the responsible individual for the Architecture and Engineering efforts for Walt Disney Imagineering on a wide variety of themed environments from Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom's Tomorrowland and Mickey's Toon Town Fair land renovations, attractions such as Epcot's Mission: SPACE, Hollywood Studio's Rock 'n' Roller Coaster to serving as the Architect of Record for Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park. On Disney's Animal Kingdom Expedition Everest, he led the technological effort in using object-enabled databases (BIM) in coordinating what many have called the "most integrated show ever developed by WDI." with a team of over a hundred and eight full time professionals.

 

In addition to being the 2011 AIA Florida President, Michael has served on the American Institute of Architects(AIA) Disaster Assistance Task Force (2007 - Present), represented the AIA at FEMA's Emergency Management Institute's Strategic Plan 2009 - 2014 Focus Group, participated in the Haiti Rebuilding Summits (2010 & 2011) and has been a California Emergency Management Agency Safety Assessment Program (SAP) Trainer since 2008.To date, he has trained over 520 architects, engineers, building officials and inspectors in Florida, Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi Tennessee and Texas.

             Associate Director- One year term

Candidates for VP, Secretary and Treasurer must be Architect members in good standing of the AIA Fort Lauderdale Chapter.  Candidates for Associate Director must be an Associate Member in good standing of the AIA Fort Lauderdale chapter.
