UM School of Architecture: Lecture, Exhibition & Book Signing "Marion Manley Miami's First Woman Architect"

Listen to University of Miami School of Architecture Professors Carie

Penabad and Catherine Lynn discuss Marion Manley designer of the

post WWII buildings in which the school is located. In addition to

designing numerous buildings on the University of Miami campus,

Ms. Manley worked on Miami’s Federal Building and Miami’s US Post

Office in the 1930s.  Ms. Manley helped to open the door for women

to be accepted in the architectural profession.  There will be a

lecture followed by an exhibition of Manley’s projects.  A new

monograph, Marion Manley Miami’s First Woman Architect, by

Catherine Lynn and Carie Penabad will be available for purchase

during the evening.
